Ixsir Altitudes Red 2011 is made with the help of Chateau Petrus winemaking consultant Hubert de Bouard using a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Tempranillo and Caladoc grown in prime vineyard sites in the the Bekaa Valley at an altitude of about 1000m above sea level (hence the name). The finished wine is approachable, warm and ripe with strawberries, blackcurrant and vanilla on the nose. The palate has the same berry fruit character and also some capsicum. It has ripe tannic structure, good complexity and a long, silky persistence of flavour.
