Riscal 1860 Tempranillo 2012, produced by Marques de Riscal, uses a blend of Tempranillo, Syrah and Merlot grapes (85/7.5/7.5) which have had maximum exposure to the sun. Fermentation takes place in tank at a controlled temperature and has only short skin contact time. The bottled wine is dark purple in colour, with an abundance of ripe dark fruits. smoke and a little toast on the nose. Crisp on the palate with ripe tannins, plenty of fruit and a long slightly oak finish.
