Martin Codax Albarino 2014 is made by the cooperative of the same name using grapes grown by up to 550 growers in a total of 2400 vineyard parcels predominantly in the Salnes valley where, protected from the cooling effects of the sea, the days are warm allowing complete ripeness to develop in the grapes. Following harvest and crushing the must is fermented in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature and is allowed to undergo malolactic transformation after which it is matured on the lees for 4 months before bottling. A straw coloured wine with apples and citrus fruit aromas on the nose. Round on the palate with apricot and citrus fruit flavours balanced by a lovely crisp acidity and light petillance that lifts the wine.
