Castillo de Clavijo Rioja Tempranillo is made with fruit from the estate's younger vines. The grapes are crushed and the juice is fermented in stainless steel vats before being aged for 6 months in a mixture of French and American oak barrels. A Rioja which whose balance between fruit and wood is definitely on the side of the fruit. It has lots of black cherry and a little vanilla on the nose. Smooth and balanced on the palate, elegant with a good persistence of flavour.
