Urlar Pinot Gris 2014 is made in the Wairarapa or Martinborough region at the southern end of the North Island of New Zealand by Scots emigree Angus Thomson and his family. Fruit is manually harvested in the cool of the morning and after whole bunch pressing the juice is fermented in old French oak barrels after which it is aged on the lees with regular stirring to enhance mouthfeel and complexity. Rich with pear, peach and flowers on the nose. Full on the palate, creamy and complex with lots of fruit flavour. Balanced and has potential to be cellared.
