Mormoraia Chianti Colli Senesi 2011 is made with Sangiovese and a proportion of other varieties permitted in Chianti grown in the hills around the towered town of San Gimignano near Siena in Tuscany. The juice is fermented in stainless steel vats with a period of around 2 weeks with skin contact. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for 4 months before bottling. The finished wine is an intense ruby colour with a nose of ripe fruits, spices and tobacco. The palate is soft with classic red fruits and herbs and an good persistence of flavour.
