Cullen Mangan Red 2010 is a blend of Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot (63/25/12) from the single vineyard of the same name in the Wilyabrup region of the Margaret River in western Australia. The fruit is harvested by hand before being de-stemmed and the must fermented using wild yeasts in an effort to emphasise the fruit character of the grapes in this vineyard. The wine was then aged for 11 months in French oak barrels around one-third of which were first fill. It was then bottles without fining and with the addition of only the required quantity of sulphur. A dark structured wine with plenty of dark fruit flavours and aromas complemented by those of chocolate, coffee, leather and some floral notes. An intense wine but one that doesn't overpower, it has nice acidity and super length of flavour.
