Bodega Renacer's Punto Final Malbec 2015 is made with Malbec (and about 1% Cabernet Franc) from 50 year old vines growing in the La Consulta, Perdriel and Medrano vineyards situated about 1000 metres above sea level in Mendoza. Following five days of cold skin contact the fermentation, using native yeasts, takes place in stainless steel vats at about 28oC. After malolactic transformation the wine is aged for about 8 weeks in French oak barrels to add a little complexity without compromising the fruit flavours. The bottles wine is deep, ruby red and has dark berry fruits, cherries and some spice on the nose. Soft and round on the palate it has notes of vanilla, chocolate and caramel to complement the ripe fruit character. Good acidity and length.12 BOTTLES OF THE 2012 REMAIN IN STOCK.
