Quinta do Zimbro Poleiros 2009 is made with the Portuguese varieties Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Tinta Barroca and Touriga Franca. After picking and de-stemming the grapes are crushed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with a long skin contact period to ensure good extraction of tannin, colour and flavour. Following 6 months maturation in stainless steel the wine is bottled at which point it has plenty of ripe cherry on the nose. The palate is smooth with plenty of dark fruit flavours and good acidity.
