Tinpot Hut Pinot Gris 2015 winemaker Fiona Turner uses grapes from the southern Omaka valley and Rapaura regions of Marlborough for this wine. Each individual vineyard parcel was harvested individually, to obtain perfect ripeness for all the fruit in the wine, and then presses rapidly before fermentation in stainless steel at cool temperatures using selected yeast strains. The bottled, released wine has a nose with pears and peaches, a little spice and some fresh bread. On the palate it is medium, with plenty of mouthfeel, and flavours of peach and pear complemented by some notes of spice. Nicely balanced, silky and with a good length.
