Delta Hatters Hill 2010 is made with 100% Pinot Noir from the vineyard of the same name in Marlborough. Cold-soaking and then fermntation in open topped vessels, partly with wild yeasts adds complexity to the wine. The wine was aged for 8 months in a mixture of new and used French oak barrels. The wine is a dark ruby red with abundant cherry on the nose as well as a little toast and some floral notes. On the palate the wine is medium bodied, with fine smooth tannins, and has some spice and cherry fruit, spiciness from the oak as well as a plummy character. Good flavour persistence.
