Bruno Rocca Barbaresco 2012 is made with 100% Nebbiolo from Rocca's younger vines in Neive, Treiso and Barbaresco. Following harvest and crushing the must was fermented in stainless steel vats at about 30oC after which half was racked into new French oak barrels and the other half into old French oak where it was matured for 17 months before bottling and further year in bottle prior to release. The bottled wine is almost brick red with cherries, plums and dark berries complemented by some spice and violets on the nose. Nicely structured with pleasing elegance and classic Nebbiolo flavours and a nice long finish.
