Dobogo Tokaji Aszu 6 Puttonyos 2007 is made with botrytic or nobley-rotten grapes which causes the skins of the grapes to let water escape concentrating the sugars in the juice. After harvest into conical containers called Puttonyos and crushing the sweet grape must was added to a dry base wine in the ratio of 6 puttonyos to each 136 litres of base wine after which it was moved to large oak barrels where it was aged for 3 years before bottling. A deep golden wine with lots of honey and dried fruit on the nose. Full-bodied and sweet on the palate with flavours of nuts and fruit balanced by superb acidity which means the wine is not at all cloying bur rather fresh. Long finish.
