Dominique Morel's Domaine de Gry Sablon Beaujolais Villages 2014 is made with Gamay grapes grown in 12 hectares of densely-planted, low-yielding, south-west facing vineyards which imparts an attractive bramble fruit character to the wines. After harvest but before fermentation the bunches undergo semi-carbonic maceration to extract colour, aroma and tannin the the must is fermented in stainless steel vats at low temperature. A dark purple wine with lots of berry fruit on the nose. Nicely structured on the palate with ripe silky tannins and a lick of oak character. Great food wine.
