Chateau Larose Trintaudon 2009 is made with a classic left bank Bordeaux blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot by this Chateau which strives to be one of the most sustainable operations in the world. The fruit is de-stemmed and the juice fermented using a selected yeast strain and then matured for 10 to 12 months in mainly French oak barrels, about 20% of which are first fill, before blending and bottling. A ruby red wine with dark fruits, some meatiness, mint and a little cigar box on the nose. Medium bodied on the palate with good acidity and balance of fruit and savoury, smokey notes. An elegant wine.
