Chateau d'Aqueria Lirac Rouge 2010 is made with the classic southern Rhone blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre (50/25/25). The fruit is harvested by hand, de-stemmed and then has about a three week skin contact period with regular agitation to ensure good extraction of flavour and tannin. Following fermentation about 2/3rds of the wine ispends about 6 months in oak barrels prior to bottling. It is a deep violet wine with cooked red fruits and a hint of vanilla on the nose. The palate is smooth with silky tannins and pleasing red fruit and spice falvours. Good long finish.
