Clos des Fous Cauquenina 2013 is made with a blend consisting predominantly of Carignan(40%) but also Carmenere(20%) and Malbec(10%) with the balance made up of a mix of other indigenous varieties. It is a beautiful dark ruby-red color with violet highlights. Outstanding fruit, with a nose full of red berries, red currant, black cherry, blueberry. Spices like black pepper, tea leaves and notes of graphite and violets. Those elements come through on the palate, with fresh black and red fruit, revealing a full-bodied wine. Generous, very silky and lush with very fine tannins and excellent acidity which enhances its liveliness and balance.
