Dandelion Vineyards Lionheart of the Barossa Shiraz 2014 made with fruit from old, ungrafted vines growing in an old vineyard in the Barossa Valley. The grapes wre harvested by hand then crushed and allowed to ferment naturally with twice daily plunging. It was then transferred to French oak barrels (25% new) to finish fermentation and have 18 months maturation prior to bottling with neither filtration nor fining. A deep crimson wine with lots of plum and blackberry on the nose together with some notes of choclate and Christmas spices. Full on the palate with berry fruits and plum flavours complemented by spice and supported by a fine tannic structure. Good persistence.
