Bachelder Oregon Chardonnay 2012 is made by Thomas Bachelder mainly using fruit from organically farmed vineyards in the Willamette Valley where the sandstone and volcanic soils impart a minerality in the wine. With years of winemaking experience in Burgundy Thomas has used a light hand in the cellar, fermenting the must in oak barrels with wild yeasts. After subsequent malolactic transformation the wine was matured for a long period to allow better integration of oak and expression of the vineyard. A bright yellow wine with abundant apricots, peaches and citrus fruits on the nose. Rich on the palate with honey in addition to the stone and citrus fruit flavours complemented by a steely minerality and super acidity.
