Amalaya White 2015 is made by winemaker Francisco Puga using a blend of Torrontes and Riesling (85/15) grown in the Amalaya and Las Mercedes vineyard high in the dry Cafayate Valley where a 20oC difference between daytime highs and nightime lows maintains freshness in the wine. Following careful selections at both picking and in the cellar only healthy grapes are crushed and the must fermented at low temperature using selected yeast strains. The wine was then matured in stainless steel tanks for 3 months before bottling to give a golden wine with lots of citrus and grapefruit on the nose, classic Torrontes. On the palate it is fresh and crisp with a pleasant mineral character that complements the fruitiness.
