16 Stops Chardonnay 2014 is made with fruit from maritime influenced Currency Creek on the Fleurieu Peninsula some 50 miles south of Adelaide. After harvest the grapes were crushed and the must fermented in stainless steel vats at low temperature using yeast strains selected to enhance the aromatics of the grapes. The wine spent 3 months ageing on the lees before being bottles without any oak contact. The finished wine has attractive aromas of peach and apple on the nose and has a pleasing mouthfeel on the palate with good acidity to balance the fruit and a nice savoury character.
