Pickerings Gin is the first gin to be produced in Edinburgh since for over 150 years. Distilled at Summerhall on the site of the former Royal Dick Vet the recipe is based on a Bombay Gin recipe dated 1947 that was discovered by founders Matt Gammell and Marcus Pickering. The gin, that is produced in small batched in a small still named "Gert", uses nine botanicals including juniper, coriander, cardamom and fennel. On the nose it's clean with notes of pine and lemon. On the palate there's lots of aromatics with flavours of cinammon and liquorice complemented by a nice nuttyiness and a soft, slightly sweet finish. Great stuff !
