Made by Scottish master of wine Norrel Robertson in Calatayud, Spain "El Escoces Volante" or in english "The Flying Scotsman" is not a subtle but rather a powerful wine with a sweet fruity finish. Made from old vine grenache (garnacha in Spanish)the nose is red fruits with an extra level of savoury notes, mushrooms, spice and leather. Superbly full bodied with soft, ultra ripe tannins but with an acidity which manages to balance. Subtle fruits of the forest meld into a long spicy sweet finish.
