Mara Martin Godello 2012 uses fruit from vineyards on the banks of the River Tamega in the north western corner of Spain. Grapes are hand-picked then des-stemmedd, crushed and pressed and the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks then aged on its lees for 2 months prior to bottling, giving the wine a rounder mouthfeel and some added complexity. The wine has a nose of straw, apples and pears with some floral and citrus notes. The plate is piercing and fruit forward with a nice length of flavour and body.
