Fonterutoli Chianti Classico 2010 is made with hand-harvested fruit from south-facing vineyards near Radda. After being de-stemmed and crushed the warm (30oC) fermentation takes place over 2 weeks for good colour and flavour extraction. Maturation is in small oak barrels for 8 months to a year followed by 6 months in bottle prior to release. The wine is dark ruby in colour with a nose of cherry fruit and some notes of spice, smoke and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied with good tannic structure and acidity. Good length of flavour.
