Greenstone Vineyard Heathcote Shiraz 2010 is made using 100% Shiraz grown in the Greenstone vineyard, close to the town of Heathcote, which is about 400m above sea level and was first planted with Shiraz in 2003. Grapes are hand harvested, crushed, and the must is allowed to spontaneously ferment in open topped vessels. The wine is then aged for 1.5 years in French oak barrels, around 20% of which are first fill. A deep coloured wine with lots of ripe, dark fruit character on the nose. The palate is equally dark fruited with fine ripe tannins and a refreshing finish. Nice complexity and persistence of flavour.
