A couple of wines after a busy couple of days
EclecticTastes has had a busy including a couple of days in the hills on Royal Deeside, good fun all round but now a bit exhausted. Over the weekend we are going to be enjoying a good value reds from north east Italy, Pergolino's Rosso Veronese and from Chile Calbuco's Bordeaux Blend Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot. Both these wines proves that cheap wines needn't be bland and uninteresting because both have character and individuality.

Peter Lehmann wines now available by the case.
Peter Lehmann, who died earlier this year, is a legend in Australia's Barossa Valley who after his father's death left school aged 14 and took up a position as apprentice winemaker in order to help support the family. His experience at Yalumba was not limited to winemaking and imbued him with enough business knowledge that when subsequent employer Saltram Wines ordered him to stop buying red grapes from the growers with whom Peter had developed long-standing relationships he refused, and started making red wine on the side. In 1979 Saltram was sold and this activity could no longer continue so Peter raised capital to start his own winery, Peter Lehmann Wines, which saved the livelihoods of many Barossa Valley winegrowers and in the subsequent 30 years has developed into one of the most respected of Australian producers. EclecticTastes is proud to supply these wines to you currently by the case but shortly by the bottle too. Click Peter Lehmann Wines at Eclectic Tastes to see the range.
